I have low grade mucoepidermoid carcinoma and my doctor is proposing a weber-fergusson procedure that will open up my face from the cleft above my lip, under the nostril and along the nose to under my eye, in order to access the lump.
Is there anyone with such a tumour in buccal area of the mouth, who has the tumour removed without opening up the face?
Does plastic surgery allows the scar to be made invisible? Please help!

Welcome. I hope you will receive more specific answers, but I can tell you that I had part of my face literally peeled back, and the ENT was assisted by a plastic surgeon. The scars are there, but not particularly noticeable, and frankly, the fact that I am free from cancer is far more important than my appearance. Scars will never be invisible, but they certainly fade. I think a scar along your nose would be particarly well placed as far as being less visible. Remember, as scary as this is, it is being alive that is the most important consideration, appearance second. I would recommend that you consult a plastic surgeon for reassurance.
