I need some advice please.
I had a ct scan of my neck. When they do this scan does it cover the back of the throat and down? I still have this feeling, like a lump, of something in the back of my throat. Sometimes it feels like a soar throat.
Also, if i have this feeling of a lump in the back of my throat, if it was a tumor, would the CT scan pick it up if it was a very early and small tumor?
The ct scan results did come back normal.
My worry is that maybe they did not scan the right area or it is too early of a stage to detect anything?
Should i continue to have this checked out?

Whenever my doctor's discuss my scans with me, even since the beginning, they have shown me the ct scans and pointed out the areas of concern. Had yours done this with you, you would have known for sure if the throat has been covered.
In my case, since my original tumor was supraglottis, I'm sure that they are most definitely scanning the neck.
In your case, I would say, if you really want to know where they scanned, just put a call into the doctor that ordered it. Even if you can't speak directly to him/her, the nurse or any resident assisting him can tell you exactly the area scanned.

Also, Im still very confused as if I should continue to see a doctor in reference to the problems I been having.
I have had in the last few months two biopsies, an ENT look down my throat with a scope and a CT scan of my neck. Al these results did come back normal. But, I know have this lump feeling in the back of my throat. It is at the far back and when i move my tongue back and fourth i can feel something there.
Both the ent and my primary doctor think it is caused from stress and anxiety. But i am a very heavy smoker and dont know if i should just dismiss this or continue to get checked.
Are the there any other test anyone would recommend I have or should i just go see a shrink?
What should i do?

Also did you know that smoking and heavy drinking are the leading cause of Oral Cancer? I wouldn't wish this diaease on anyone. I second what Nelie posted. quit smoking!!!!

This forum is for people to offer advice and experience with oral cancer. You have exhausted professional medical help and you DO NOT HAVE CANCER. Now you are persisting in the belief that something is wrong. You need to get your mind in agreement with these medical professionals. The fact that you THINK you have cancer and that you continue to smoke "heavily" is disturbing to me and is an indicator that you need to deal with that as well.
This forum is not the place to resolve your problem now. You need to seek help for the way you are thinking. In the mean time please do not post here. By doing so you are taking energy that is needed for people who really have cancer.
You will be welcome here if you ever have a proven case of oral cancer. For now you need to move on.
Mark, 21 Year survivor, SCC right tonsil, 3 nodes positive, one with extra-capsular spread. I never asked what stage (would have scared me anyway) Right side tonsillectomy, radical neck dissection right side, maximum radiation to both sides, no chemo, no PEG, age 40 when diagnosed.

First things first....I quite smokeing about three months ago and after all this, no matter what happens I will never smoke again!
I realize that at this point, I must seem like im going fairly nuts to all of you. I do not understand why I have these sypmtoms or why I take things to such extremes in getting a diagnosis.
What I do know is that I have had two biopsies on my tongue. One for a ulcerated lesion and another for a growth. They both came back negative. Shortly after that I developed a sensations of a lump in my throat about in the area were that little flap hangs down in the back of my throat. This has lasted about three weeks. So I went to an ENT he checked me with a scope and told me that he saw nothing. I did not accept this as I knew there was something there i could feel and also slight pain as a sore throat. So I went to my GP and ordered a CT scan of my neck . That also came back normal.
I guess I am scared because i have read so many stories of this type of cancer getting missed.
My final question is should I continue to search for a diagnosis to this lump or just attribute this lump to aniexty?
PS. Thank you Mark for being forward. I understand were you are comming from.

Fortunately, this has gone on for long enough she recognizes this for what it is-- ANXIETY.
You've had an ENT check you out and I think you can feel safe when that ENT says this is anxiety, not cancer. Now you need to take the next step and get yourself to a good psychiatrist. Anxiety attacks can be seriously disabling. But they are not what this forum is here for.
