I am hoping it turns out benign!!! And if it does, please do not make MY mistake. The first time I had a biopsy, it was benign, but the doc wanted to keep an eye on it...so he had me coming back every few months to look it over. I went on like this almost a year, and then I missed an appointment because I was on vacation. Well...I never did reschedule it and thought "what the hey?? It has been benign for over a year, and actually I know I had this in my mouth a good deal longer than that. So no big deal'. No big deal indeed... it turned INTO cancer, and they caught it at stage II...but the point is, had I continued having them check the thing out, it might not have ever gotten past the first stage. So what I am saying...just stay on top of it, ok?

The anesthesiologist said the doctor took quit a bit so thats good! The Doctor said he's expecting it to be reactive hyperplasia. He looked in my throat of course and he said he still could'nt find anything wrong. So good news so far. I will have the pathology results next week. Just thought I'd drop a line to let y'all know.

You know what really sucks? A 48 year old man and member of this forum has passed away after a one year battle with this cancer. Cancer not just once, but 3 times in one year! I am going to feel as bad as the next person if you get bad news, but give it a rest until the results are in. I have said this before, get a grip of yourself. People on here have faced imminent death with less drama.
Good luck, Glenn | | |

I am very relieved that the results were clear, and I am sorry for throwing such a big fit especially in light of what has transpired on this board just since I have been a member. Your response is right on Glenn, I know I have really lost my grip. I will refrain from posting from now on unless I have a true diagnosis. Thank God for everyone here that has tried to help me and has put up with my crying, everyone here is truly phenominal and honestly ,even though we have never met I am truly ashamed of myself if I truly don't have cancer. Thanks Again, Ronnie Bigwhip

Sometimes in life the glass really is half full...or more. Now take the knowledge that you gained form people here and help them and others. You can turn your fears into something positive. You now know a lot more about oral cancer than you did before all this started. You can share your newfound knowledge with others. Most Americans are not even aware that this disease exists and what are the warning signs and risk factors for getting it. You now do. You can see that those around you, and those you come into contact in the future, know that it is a disease that they should be aware of, get an annual screening for, and try to avoid the risk factors for getting it -- like the use of tobacco and heavy drinking. Turn this all into something good.
