Maybe the (ex) Dallas Cowboys will let me have a set of handcuffs. Ed

All joking aside we will be looking for donations to the raffle. It was a bit early to post requests yet. Believe me I will be begging later.
We will be asking that things ship a head of time (probably to Judy's, she volunteered to help me with this) That way we can get stuff numbered and such.
Just keep two things in mind. People will be flying home with their winning item (must be manageable and legal.)
And "Don't" spend all your money on the slots. This raffle will be for OCF. We'll probably have two prices of items. As you can tell not all details are worked out yet.
Looking forward to some of the things you guys will come up with.

Their in house house buffet is only 12.95 a person (and that's the emperors one). Their top restaurant offers a steak and shrimp dinner for $19.95. Maybe we should make a group reservation at the restaurant. I can deal with dinner for 2 for 80+ dollars in San Francisco but Vegas has a reputation for inexpensive food.

I assume we will have an entire room just for OCF. The $40 also includes the Friday night snacks. Although I certainly wouldn't be upset with a lower price! I can't remember the last time we spent even $50 for a meal for 2, let alone $80. I guess we don't get out enough!!!

We have a banquet room set up for Friday night for hospitality, place to check in at arrival, unwind, meet and greet. For those familiar with the hotel this would be the Pearl Room Is $250.00 for the room based on 50 people, this doesn't include refreshments' etc. Saturday afternoon/evening we have a banquet room set up plus dinner buffet/soft drinks (Dynasty Room) the cost for this was $32.00 per person for the room and food, based on 50 people. We came up with the 50 person number based on responses on the board, the actual number that have responded by e-mail and sent deposits is quite a bit lower, just enough for a booth at Denny's. (HINT!!) So actually we're (I'm) hoping the $40.00 asked for covers the additional cost of the snacks for friday night, plus any other expenses such as name tags, etc. Plus, any left over, (and I have to make an accurate accounting of what came in and went out to the other members of the comittee) will go to OCF of course. I kind of wondered about prices too when we finally aggreed on the price for banquet, but I remember my 10th high school reunion was about 35 a person, and that was at the firefighters hall. And that was a few years ago So, there you have it. Tried to keep the room cost down, otherwise about $100 a night for rooms, so in one pocket, out the other I guess.

There is a scene in it where the family sits at the table trying to eat a Turkey that was so overcooked it blew up when it was cut into. They all sit there crunching, choking and trying to wash it down with their drinks. I just can't get that picture out of my head! This should be one hell of a banquet. | | |

You did a great job on the room prices - I compared then with the Excalibur (where we usually stay) and the prices were much better so it is a tradeoff. It the Imperial on the strip?

A coordinated blast on the evening news across the country? I don't have enough money to do much but I certainly have enough energy to do a lot to help Brian fund the tremendous amount of work he has already and I am sure will continue to contribute to public awareness of oral cancer.

Used to shoot archery many years ago, sort or remember the perfect score being 300 after 10 flights of 3 arrows (I think) but don't know firearms scoring.
The story about NL's Christmas Vacation reminded me of the movie "Christmas Story" the neighbors dogs eat the turkey and Ralphie's family wind up in Chinese restaurant.
"You'll shoot your eye out!"
By the way, I can't take credit for finding the good deal on the hotel, Dinah did all the research and made the contacts on that one, and did a great job. I just "paid the money" as it were. Hotel is on the strip, I think served by the monorail. Check their website, I think has descriptions or photos of the banquet rooms.
