Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 20 | This seems likea silly question, but where are the most common sites for mets if you have oral CA, even more specifically on the mandible? I have been reading somoe of the posts regarding lungs mets and was curious if this where oral CA metastasizes to.  | | |

Joined: Nov 2002 Posts: 541 | My oncologist told me that the most common sites for mets are lung and liver. That's why chest x-ray and scanning tests are necessary post treatment.

Karen stage 4B (T3N3M0)tonsil cancer diagnosed in 9/2001.Concurrent chemo-radiation treatment ( XRT x 48 /Cisplatin x 4) ended in 12/01. Have been in remission ever since.

Joined: Nov 2002 Posts: 3,552 | I think you can add brain to that but basically anywhere where there are squamous cells (i.e., the entire respiratory system) is at risk - add the esophogus to the list.
