Hello everyone,

I am a 27 yrs old female who smoked for many years, I had recently quit smoking and I feel much better now about my health.

However, a week ago, I started to realize that my lips are very very dry with skin peeling off. And there is a lump on my upper lip, a little off center to the right. It looks and feels like a pimple/blister. The center of it is darker, and the lump is painful to the touch like a pimple. But it also has this general numb feeling around it.

My question is can this be lip cancer? or is it from the winter wind or burn from hot drinks?

i try to read up on lip cancer...but most mentioned that it occurs on the lower lip. is it true?

please advice,

worry one frown

HI Forumuser and welcome! Congratulations on quitting smoking! I wish I had done it at your age! You have a life time smokefree ahead of you!
Now stop all that worry and make an appointment with you doctor or clinic, ok? There is no reason to start worrying until there is something to worry about! It is probably nothing but you need to get it checked out. Keep us posted, ok? We care!
God bless

Hello Forumuser,

What you describe sounds allot like a cold sore. I used to get them on both my upper and lower lips. Please have your primary care doctor check it out for piece of mind. Also congradulations on quiting smoking. It's the best decision you have ever made!!!! Good luck and let us know how the sore turns out. Dan
