When I was first diagnosed with base of tongue cancer and met the speech pathologist at MD Anderson she informed me that she was doing a study on whether or not there is a link between reflux and throat cancer. I don't know whether or not her study is complete, or what it determined, but it was her theory that the two were connected. I cannot recall if I have seen other studies on the topic. As I wrote, it is "suggested" and I don't know how definitive the proof is.
