My dad just had surgery about two months ago to remove a part of his tongue with a 2cm squamous cell carcinoma mass. They were able to take it all out, but since it was just barely in 2nd stage they went into the lymph nodes- everything came up clear! He just noticed today that there were two very small white bumps right on top of where the main cancer was (on his tongue). He has a docters appointment for tomorrow, but I'm very worried and would like to know what it could be. Wouldn't it be too soon for cancer to show up again? What else could it be?

Thank you

Hi and welcome!
I just read your post re. small bumps where the tumor used to be. About 2 months ago I, too, had surgery, and started to notice tiny, blisters-like bumps (for more s. post in "Symtoms") about 2 weeks ago that come and go, sometimes within a day or even within several hours.

Can you tell me more about your dad's bumps? I am curious to lear what the doctor thinks, and would appreciate if you would post the outcome of tomorrow's appointment. Hope it's nothing to worry about.
Best, Sigrid

Fishman.........I'm not sure about the bumps but it is a good thing to mention any thing different or strange in the oral cavity to your Doctors right away. You're Dad is doing the right thing by seeing the Doctor ASAP. Good luck you both you and your Dad. Sincerely, Donna
