All this waiting...does anyone know about squamous papilloma? All I can find are references to HPV...any help or direction is always appreciated.

You probably need to discuss this with your doctor more, as the general definition of a squamous papilloma is a benign tumor. They are the most frequent benign tumor of the oral environment. When a papilloma has a raised cauliflower like surface, it may be the initial stage of verrucous carcinoma, this a malignant squamous tissue cancer. Squamous cell carcinomas also can also have a surface which has this appearance, and they are referred to as papillomatious keratinized SCC. I suggest you get a definitive diagnosis from your doctor which includes the complete name of what you have. If all you have is a squamous papilloma, that is good news, and you are out of the woods...... in this particular instance.
