Hello!
I’ve posted my symptoms on here already to see if anyone experienced anything close to mine. Now I have a question as to what provider I should let perform the scope under anesthesia. I saw an ENT yesterday that I have not seen before and he is willing to put me under anesthesia and perform the scope to look further. I also was able to get an appointment at Memorial Sloan Kettering on 9-26-24 with a head and neck surgeon. The ENT I saw on Monday wants to refer me to John’s Hopkins, since we don’t know what is going on exactly.
Does anyone have any advice on which route I should take? I asked my local ENT if he had ever diagnosed anyone with BOT or Larynx cancer and he said yes, myself. He apparently had BOT cancer and cancer in 1 lymph node 7 years ago. But I’m just not sure if I should go with him or wait 5 weeks and see the doctor at MSK, who would have more experience with cancer. I really don’t want to wait, but if it would be in my best interest, then I will.
Honestly, I’m not even sure to doctor at MSK would even agree to do the scope. My scans have not shown anything. I only had enlarged level 2 lymph nodes, which have now went down in size. I’m still having all of my symptoms except the jaw pain has decreased, probably due to the lymph nodes shrinking.
Here are my symptoms again:
Bilateral ringing of the ears- recently had some pulsing in the left ear with a fullness feeling in that ear.
Double vision
Low anterior neck pain
Sometimes when I talk I feel something down low in my throat/neck.
Sore throat for 6 weeks
Clearing my throat frequently
Left jaw pain and pain under my chin
Feel like I have a fever during the day- I just feel terrible but do not have a fever
Headaches occasionally
Chest pain occasionally
Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you!!
Kim
