I am the caregiver to my boyfriend whose SCC came back with a vengeous. He had his first battle with this back in 2005 and pulled through. This time isn't looking so good. On July 20, 2022, he had a right tonsillar fossa w/extension on base of the tongue and posterior fossa. About six days later, a feeding tube was placed and the doctor told us that after examining the specimen they discovered they didn't get it all. This was a horrible blow!
After nine days in the hospital, he came home and we settled in with a whole different routine. Due to the feeding tube, he is unable to work and the bills are piling up. He will start radiation within the next few weeks, but doctor said there is only a 50/50 chance it will get it all.
We are hopeful and continue to make plans for our future together. | | | | Joined: Aug 2020 Posts: 143 Likes: 34 Assistant Administrator Senior Member (100+ posts) | Assistant Administrator Senior Member (100+ posts) Joined: Aug 2020 Posts: 143 Likes: 34 | Dear MLowery
