Hello all - I am just at the start of this battle - with only have biopsy results come back and say squamous cell carcinoma - I was referred to another oral surgeon rather than the one that did my biopsy…I am just in a state of shock and I’m having a rough go at seeing past this boulder thrown in my life. I am not even sure what questions to ask at the appointment. Any pointers??

I would like to help you but need some more information. Where is the cancer, or at least where was the biopsy taken from? I am assuming that since you saw an oral surgeon, that it is on your tongue or somewhere in the front if your mouth. Also it would be good if it is larger in size to get a consultation from an ENT head and neck surgeon who is trained differently than dental based doctors for a different perspective. What kind of scans or images have been done? How did it get discovered, was it something you saw or felt, or did someone else notice it.

All that will give me enough information to help you better. I will be watching the message boards today so I will get right back to you when you post again. B
