Hi

I have tongue pain from last 2 months. I have a red patch right at the back of the tongue and a fleshy lump in the middle all on the right border. I went to the GP and she prescribed some blood tests. After results she will refer to oral surgeon.
But now the pain is intense and my tongue aches a lot with the pain referred to the ears, jaw and neck.

Does this seem like oral cancer. Does the cancer sore generally ache? Its a deep ache like a muscle ache.

Hello aussaguy,you need to go to ENT asap I don't know what they call ENT Dr there but these dr specialists in ear nose and throat normally ent will take biopsies to rule out cancer if its positive for cancer they would refer to cancer surgeon or to a cancer center but don't wait I waited one month for ent dr snd mine spread to lymph nodes so go asap good luck

I have a lateral lump & red patch on the side of my tongue as well. My dentist told me it is due to friction but I’m not so sure. It’s not particularly painful but does feel irritated from time to time..
