I’ve posted here several times about a bump under the side of my tongue way in the back that has been there for over a year. 2 ENTs told me it was nothing to worry about but couldn’t tell me what it was....both told me they could feel the lump but not see it & that there was nothing to biopsy. Well now, I have developed a lump in my neck on the same side where the tongue bump is. It is about 3cm and feels hard but not rock hard. I am very scared that I have oral cancer and it has spread. It seems vertical coincidental to have the 2 bumps on the same side. I feel like I am awaiting a death sentence. I have an ultrasound on Wednesday. I am so scared. I am a 39 year old female...never smoked, rarely drink, really try to take care of myself, in general good health, and a single mom. Did anyone have their oral cancer/Mets present like this?

Keep us posted on the ultra sound. Did you ever get that biopsy done?

I’ve seen 2 ENTs, one of which was a cancer specialist and both told me they saw nothing to biopsy. Neither of them could see the bump, just feel it...I find that strange. I saw them last in May. The tongue bump has remained unchanged since I found it but this neck “mass” I believe started about a month ago. It feels more like a “wall” of tissue than a node. I’m very worried.

Try not to over-think what’s happening until you have had the ultrasound and the results. If there’s a problem, your doctor will probably order a biopsy at that point. I know it’s easy to say but hard to do, don’t borrow sorrow from tomorrow.

I’m trying but it’s so hard to believe the 2 issues are not related. I should have pushed harder for the tongue biopsy...

What’s really confusing to me is that the white spot & bump on my tongue are unchanged. They look pretty much the same since they appeared so why is my neck causing trouble now??

Urgent care visit confirmed 3x3cm lymph node. Ultrasound will give the real answers. Trying really hard to believe that the ENTs I saw earlier in the year were correct about my tongue and that this is unrelated. Paperwork from urgent care says 3x3cm right anterior cervical lymph node not tender movable...really holding on to the fact that it’s movable.

The ultrasound was negative. However, I’m worried there is something deeper it was missed. How can it be that I have a bump in my mouth and my neck on the same side and they are not related?
