Had my first follow up pet ct scan on Thursday and get the results Monday. I had clean margins and no Mets on pre surgery scan so logically the chance of bad news seems very low but still have a feeling at pit of my stomach. I’m not quite 3 months post rads to tongue and I keep reading stories from people who got faint glows on their first post treatment pet due to radiation inflammation. Why do they do the pet scan so soon if that’s the case? anyways I’m crossing fingers and trying not to be paranoid.

Hi

After my Pet Scan they spotted something on my tongue which they determined was nothing. I try not to think about it but I’m always wondering what it was? They said it was possibly I moved during the scan.

I just try to think the cancer is gone.

This forum has Been a big help because it gives you realistic expectations as to where you are in your recovery

When Covid ends I would love to find an in person support group.
