Hello friends
THIS IS MY FIRST POST EVER ANYWHERE.

I am Vineet, 49 yo male, I was diagnosed with oral cancer and underwent surgery 18 months back followed by RT. A part of my lip edge had to be removed following which the mouth opening was restricted substantially.

Following the RT which ended 18months back the mouth opening has further reduced and now has reached to a point of almost no opening at all.

I can consume ONLY LIQUID diet.
The doctor has advised a Surgery nd have suggested that they would use some soft tissues from my body nd place it on my cheek to help resolve the TRISMUS.

PLEASE HELP ME TO KNOW IF IT IS OK TO HAVE A SURGERY ON THE RTed TISSUES ND IF THE HEALING WOULD BE OK OR IF SUCH SURGERY MAY EAD TO FURTHER COMPLICATIONS.
my saliva has also reduced nd I have a relatively dry mouth.

IS SURGERY OK AFTER 18 MONTHS OF RT.

Thank you all for being a part of such a platform.

Wish u all a happy nd healthy life
