We asked him to stop smoking his pipe for two weeks so we can see how the tissue rebounded. Never saw him again. He now has stage 4 squamous cell carcinoma and is in radiation tx. They are foregoing chem and surgery due to his age. He also has advancing dementia. It’s hard to watch because I know things only get worse. This forum will be really helpful! | | | | Joined: Aug 2018 Posts: 345 Likes: 8 Platinum Member (300+ posts) | Platinum Member (300+ posts) Joined: Aug 2018 Posts: 345 Likes: 8 | yeah, I was on faculty at a dental school and told husband that I had seen lesions in 17 yr olds from chewing tobacco. ah, it will never happen to me. took awhile but it sure did. stage 4a BOT cancer. so far, he has beat it but i wouldn't wish the treatment on my worst enemy.
