Hello,

hope everyone is doing well. I had a mild-moderate dysplastic lesion removed under my tongue a year ago and it is doing well and hasn't come back. Recently I noticed a red area way back on my lateral tongue(I have to put my tongue as far as it can go out to see it) and was concerned it could be another dysplasia lesion because it is red like my original one. I did notice some redness on the other side of my tongue but not quite as intense. I do have an appointment with an ENT next week but was wondering is it common for dysplasia to appear at a new site? Thanks!

NOT a doctor here, but from the number of times this question has popped up just since I've been a member, I'd say yes, it is very common for it to reappear. You are absolutely doing the right thing by getting it checked, though. Peace of mind is worth everything. ((hugs)) and wishing the best possible news for you.
