Update:. Hi all, its been a bit of time since I posted. Just letting everyone know that I will be going back into surgery Friday. This time, i will actually get the treatment that was supposed to happen 7 months ago. Partial glossectomy, about 1/3 -1/2 removed on the left, neck dissection with lymph nodes removed, then reconstruction with a free flap from the forearm and then a skin graft to cover. Not gonna lie, stress and anxiety are at an all time high. But, I want to offer some advice, I should have listened to at the beginning. Please, if you are diagnosed with tongue cancer or anything really, do your research first before letting some doctor cut on you. Competent, experienced doctors over doctors who dont want to look incompetent. Anyway...take care of yourself or loved one first and foremost.

WendyinGa,

I’m from Georgia and having surgery at Emory Midtown. Where did you have your surgery?
