One year ago he had a supra-cricoid- partial laryngectomy. (Probably mispelled) He is still on a tube feed. Much has happened in the past two years, good days and bad days. Lessons learned, and 20/20 hindsight. I look forward to meeting and sharing with others. | | | | Joined: Jun 2007 Posts: 10,507 Likes: 7 Administrator, Director of Patient Support Services Patient Advocate (old timer, 2000 posts) | Administrator, Director of Patient Support Services Patient Advocate (old timer, 2000 posts) Joined: Jun 2007 Posts: 10,507 Likes: 7 | Stacey, welcome to OCF! I know you will find this site filled with people who are very knowledgeable about oral cancer and willing to share their experiences with you. Everyone is super nice and very compassionate. Before this I had never participated in any social media platform, not even Facebook, and was very nervous. All I have experienced here is a lot of good advice and moral support.
This is a very tough disease and the emotional toll for both the patient and the caregiver is almost beyond description. But as Christine said, "we are all in this together." Strength in numbers.
Looking forward to hearing from you and hoping your husband continues in his recovery 🌝

I've always felt that the effort my wife put forth during both diagnosis and subsequent surgeries / treatments, made my recovery much easier. I don't think I could have handled the situations as well as she has and continues to do.
So, with that said, feel free to ask questions, vent, or just read and gain some additional knowledge about oral cancer.
