You and John both supported each other and also all of us on this site. You and he, did indeed, make an everlasting contribution in your journey, fight and involvement with head and neck cancers. I have shared, with all of my doctors, his story of never giving up the quest to open his throat to swallow again, which he achieved through perseverance and willingness to be part of the frontier for so many of us. For that, we are all thankful.
The journey has shifted a bit for you - with the loss of John - may you find some comfort, peace and rest.

1996, ovarian cancer surgery + cisplatin and taxol. September, 2007, SCC of left lateral tongue. Excision. October, 2009 recurrence in scar tissue, T1NOMO. Free flap surgery from left wrist - neck dissection. 63 year old New Zealander. No chemo, no RT. February, 2014. New primary in left buccal mucosa. Marginal mandibulectomy, neck dissection, right arm free forearm flap. T1N0M0 but third occurrence and some areas of concern: RT started 8 April and finished 19 May.
