Luckily, I needed no further treatment. I have been numb in the jaw/neck area ever since. 2 weeks ago, I have started to regain feeling. When I press on that side of my tongue, I can feel it all the way down my neck. I guess it's a good to regain feeling but I am panicking. I already made an app to see my doctor. Has this happened to anyone else? Could this be nerve damage? Happy 27th Birthday to me! Couldn't bring in the new year without a quick trip down google lane (google is the worst). That's why I decided to finally post here Thank you! -Katie

Cancer found on back right side of my tongue in March 2013. Non-smoker and very light drinker. Tumor removed, reconstruction & partial neck dissection in April 2013. Stage 1. No chemo & no radiation.

I was told any return of feeling to my chin and lip would take two years. Hope you have a happy appointment.
Happy Birthday too!

Sounds like a good thing. You have senses returning. I'd not worry but the doctor hopefully says congrats to you.
