I am a new member also - I do not have cancer, but my husband has been through surgeries, radiation, and now is in chemo treatments. The surgeon refuses to operate anymore on him, I think because of his weakened state (down to 124 lbs from 170 lbs). His cancer started as a spot on his tongue about a year and a half ago and has continually come back (very aggressive). It traveled to his lymphnodes and they removed most of them, then to his neck, and again to his neck, and traveled to his shoulder where he had surgery and most recent it has come back to his shoulder within a month after the last surgery. It has been very hard for him. He cannot do hardly anything physical anymore, but his spirit is strong!!

I am sory your husband has to go through so much. It is a most unforgiving diaease. What type of chemo drugs is your husband receiving?
Hoping that whatever it is is helping him.

Jace,

I am truly sorry for the battles your husband and you have had to endure. Like Danny is saying, he is so fortunate to have you by his side. We can never say enough to thank those that help us along the journey.

Jace,
As long as there is spirit to fight - there is life and am sure that if one does not give up hope and your hubby has such a strong force like you beside him - he has to beat the cancer. He has no choices. I honestly pray he recovers so fast that it will amaze everyone. Dont let negative thougts ever bog you down - there is no word called impossible.
Take care and do write if you I can be of any help in anyway - I am a fighter and a survior with a never say die attitude and thats helped me overcome so many odds that have surprised the medical world. For all known reasons - all that I went through in the past 5 years qualifie me for a trip to the grave.
If I could do that - so can your hubby and he will.
Ananth

I want to thank everyone that has given me such great support!!! Sometimes I think I am in this alone - it is hard to go into detail with people who ask "how is your husband doing" - I have a tendancy to keep alot to myself so I am not really open to discussing his health to anyone and everyone - this forum has already helped me and just knowing there are others out there who have gone through the same or worse and can give me words of wisdom and support helps tremendously!! thank you so much!!

Jace, I am concerned that your husband needs to get another opinion. You have not mentioned where he is being seen or weather you have access to a comprehensive cancer center or other large hospital. If he has not yet had radiation therapy, he may be a candidate for further treatments that will offer a better solution.

If you start a "new topic" by pressing the new topic button, you will receive an e-mail each time someone posts a reply to you.

Take care
