It's very sad that on Sep 15th we were informed that she had 3-24 months. She became really weak early November and died at exactly three months. I thought we would have at last a year with her. Her one round of chemo only made things worse.
She was initially diagnosed in August 2008 and had a successful Mandibulectomy in September 2008. She went on to live a normal life for 6 years and I was so thankful for this.
In March of this year she had recurrence. Our doctor indicated he had never seen a case like this where after five plus years he was looking at my mom as a brand new stage IV patient.
She was 54.

It is very difficult. My parents migrated from India when I was only 8 months old. They didn't have much when they came here. My mom worked 80 hours a week so that our family could make it. She sacrificed everything for my sisters and I.

I am familiar with the mandiblectomy as mom had that in 2008 and my dad previously had double bypass. Those are major operations and I wish you and your family the best in the New Year!
