He just showed me a white patch on the left side of his tongue. I am Getting worried. Can it be Cancer on the left side also?? Or do You think the radiation is causing that? I just called the doctor but haven't heard back yet. So worried. Anyone have expierenced this?

It may be the mouth sores most OC patients get when undergoing radiation treatments.

Have you had any sores on the tongue?

We panicked and Of course we thought it was cancer starting on her tongue to but her doctor said no it wasn't . the Doc. said it was Thrush starting up. sure enough it went away. But if its sores and not white patches then it could be something else.

All quite normal but sure hurt quite a bit.
There is stuff called "magic mouthwash" that is mixed up a bit differently but look for lidocaine as that eases the pain.
Rinsing a lot with half and half baking soda and salt in warm water helps soothe things too.

Maybe you could start a blog - or your brother could, as a way of keeping track of his progress. (see "OCF Blogs" on the forum list. Sometimes, just seeing the progress and how well one is doing can be very encouraging. Also, writing something down "releases it from the brain" and keeps you from worrying about it too much because you know you can always come back to it if you need to check on something.
