A lot of nausea and bad headaches . She completed the 35 Rad 6 months ago but a recurrence showed up shortly after. A second surgery was done but there were to many cancer cells so the only option is Chemo. She visited the Oncologist this past Monday and set up the Chemo to start on the 21st of Oct. The problem is that she has been very sick with so much nausea and terrible headaches . We have to wonder could the cancer be spreading ? Her ear and face/neck hurts everyday now these flu symptoms . I wish she could've started the Chemo sooner just maybe it would help to slow this cancer down if it is spreading. Heidi

What are the doctors saying? It sounds like maybe a chest X-ray is in order. There's so many things it could be. Even the flu but it's virus season, too. Please do everything you can to help get the pain under control. That will make the biggest difference in quality of life.
By flu, I am assuming upper respiratory issues. Even a constant sinus infection could cause nausea.

A chest ct should be par for the course. Pump up her protein and immune system to try and prep her for chemo, it's possible her immune system is still weak and she has caught something but you need to know that for sure. Hugs and good luck.

A prescription for Zofran and antibiotics was given. I keep stressing to her how important it is to keep her immune system up but she can hardly eat. She has a peg so I am getting as much calories and nutrition as I can in her and she eats very small portions of food. Thanks for your help Heidi

I know that this is a very difficult time Heidi. Just take it one day at a time. Tammy

She is not running fever but the incision looks a little red in spots so I guess the antibiotics were for that. I've been trusting in these doctors and there recommendations were high. But lately i'm getting a different feeling towards them. I called MD Anderson in Texas yesterday to enquire about the Oncologist who will be treating my mom with the Chemo and I was told his credentials were high with the Anderson team . But I am getting worried and hope were making the best decision to stay in LA for her treatment.
I feel like I cant sleep anymore . I'm constantly reading and researching on different treatments and side effects that I'm sure will come.
Thank you for any advice Heidi
