I went to MD Anderson for second opinion, they confirmed the diagnosis, but I decided that the surgeons at Vaderbilt had a less invasive surgical option. I would recommend Brian B. and Jim N. if a head & neck [LIST] operation is required.I went through 6 weeks of radiation starting the week after Labor Day 05 through Oct 05.35 total treatments.Everything was going along great until I had a PET scan July 9, 2005 and I now have cancer in my lymph nodes (5-8%chance) on both sides of my neck and it is in my lungs also. I've searched the internet and can only find one Phase II clinical trial that is currently in progress but it's in Toronto. I went to Vanderbilt 7-28-05 and spoke with Mace Rothenberg, clinical research oncologist and he says that Vanderbilt will have a Phase II trial specifically for ACC using a drug named Velcad?. Does anyone know anything about this drug or are there any other trials available? Help!!! Chip

Sorry about your condition but glad you found us. Did they tell you the staging of he cancer? Is the treatment pallative or cureable? If pallative I would try the clinical drug. Wehave had some members who have done well with trial drugs. Wishing you the best.
