It hurt at the time it was done, but I didn't have any problems afterwards too much.
However, I'm thinking you are talking of the type of biopsy where they knock you out and do a thorough scoping and biopsies everywhere. I had one of those too about a month after the FNA and diagnosis. I was in the hospital for about three days, as they also put in the PEG feeding tube. Honestly, outside of a bit of sore throat from the biopsy bit, most of my pain was related to the PEG tube (which I must say was more than the "mild discomfort" they had described)
I even remember being able to eat quite well after the surgery, as my radiation and chemo treatments didn't start for a couple weeks afterward.
I know it really doesn't have much impact to say "not to worry" when most of us will worry no matter what, but speaking from my own experience, this procedure was at the start of the journey. Yes, I worried about it, but looking back there it really wasn't as bad as I imagined it would be.

I came home with pain meds (liquid), steroids and something for a sick stomach. Had to be quiet for 4 days and not even whisper which he said would be worse than talking. I was on soup and liquids mostly for the first 4 days also. The pain was only slightly bad on day two.
I spent around 3 hours at a surgery center and got to come home even after the surgery as long as someone stayed with me the first 24 hours.
I went back in two weeks for a biopsy of my paranasal cavity for the second time. I was sedated and when I came home after the sedation wore off I was fine. Didn't even need a Tylenol. You will be fine if its just for biopsies I am sure. let us know how it goes.
Hugs and blessings to you, Barb!

I do remember filling a large bottle of Vicodin, but I never bothered to use it, even though the PEG incision was really hard to deal with.
As for eating, I remember chowing on a cheeseburger in the hospital with relatively little problem.
