Joined: Jun 2005 Posts: 15 | I just finished treatment last week. Had neck dissection, one lymph node with primary unfound. Doctor's educated guess tonsil. Didn't look up any info before treatment, was way to scared and felt the less I know, the less to worry about. Now I would like to know when will my voice come back? When will this hoarseness leave?
unknown primary, one node,left neck radical dissection, 3 chemo, 33 rads. treatment ended 6-15-05

Joined: Mar 2003 Posts: 1,384 Likes: 1 | It takes time Barbara, I noticed improvement within weeks but it got even better over several months. Keep taking fluids and Biotene mouthwash helped me.

Mark, 21 Year survivor, SCC right tonsil, 3 nodes positive, one with extra-capsular spread. I never asked what stage (would have scared me anyway) Right side tonsillectomy, radical neck dissection right side, maximum radiation to both sides, no chemo, no PEG, age 40 when diagnosed.
