Been keeping my FB friends updated and been lurking on the ostomy forum looking for info to help Linda deal with her ileostomy. Any way, here we are almost a year after one of Linda's docs was telling Her son Michael and me that we should be thinking about hospice. On wednsday her onc told us the results of last weeks ct scan. No sign of her ovarian cancer. We meet with the gyn/onc at UC Davis next week to get the final decision on weather or not further surgery is needed. At the time, it appears that it won't. Linda has totally beaten the odds and astounded all of her doc's.I could have told them that she would. The amazing Linda.
David R. 65 yr old male non-smoker, light drinker, stage 3 or 4, depending on which doc you ask, scc rt. tonsil, 2 nodes, 7 weeks radiation and chemo. No surgery. Teatment ended 3/20/08. PET scan 8/08 showed no cancer. And now, as of oct, 2010, caregiver to wife, Linda, with breast cancer. May, 2013, Linda diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer. Enuf already.

That's a tough cancer from many perspectives. I dealt with an ileostomy for almost a year till my mother passed away. It's hard to believe a year has already gone by.
