Hi, I'm a student from Katherine Stinson Middle school in San Antonio, Texas. We are doing a cancer unit for the Gifted and Talented program, which are a program to make people to be more aware of cancer and what the risks are. So right now I'm searching for a cancer survivor that won't mind me interviewing them, and telling me from their experience what you should do after getting the tongue cancer. If you are a tongue cancer survivor and doesn't mind me interviewing, then give me a reply and we'll arrange a time where and when we can meet. Thank you.

I don't think you are going to have much luck finding someone who lives near you to be interviewed.

Might I suggest a different approach ... go to the websites home page and start reading the wealth of information available about oral cancer. There is plenty of information there for you to do a very informative school project.

Even if you did find a person to interview, I don't think any of them know as much as you can learn from the home page information.

Good luck

Hey OCSupporter I would like to invite you to come out to OP Schnabel on Saturday, April 12 for an Oral Cancer Foundation awareness walk. Bring your whole class. Better yet, form a team and have all of your class help raise money for research! That would sure help you see a few survivors, learn a lot more and even get a free oral cancer screening.

Hi OCSupporter,

I would be happy to help with your project. I live in Mississippi so the interview would have to be via phone/Skype. You can PM me if that helps your project.

Way to go on building awareness for OC!

Feel free to contact me. Every year I speak to High School students about my cancer caused by HPV and the way to prevent it by the Gardasil vaccination. I've done this for 5 years and each year teachers line up for me to talk to their students. This past year instead of going to individual classes I spoke to an auditorium full of students.
