Hi

I just wondered if anyone had any thoughts on these bizarre symptoms. I keep getting blood blisters pop up in my mouth. Then i bled from my cheek. Then an ulcer appeared in the cheek close to the gum which now has left behind what looks like a line of white scar tissue. Now again where the blood blisters were popping up on side of mouth it looks like i have erythoplakia, and a bit on my actual lip. I have seen an oral surgeon who wants to see me again in two weeks to reassess things when things in the mouth have calmed down. However since then i have become pretty frightened because a couple of days ago i noticed i felt like food was stuck in the roof of my mouth and right at the back, i looked with a torch, there are two bright white lesions, they appear lumpy looking although are quite flat, and they bleed if touched. Also a couple of little tiny blood spots bleeding inside roof of mouth. I just dont understand how all of this can pop up in such a short space of time. Just six weeks really.

If you are still smoking, it could be tobacco irritating your mouth. If you continue to smoke, its only a matter of time before so kind of serious health issue arises. The white patches could be thrush? Its best to get checked out by a professional if the sores have been there 2 weeks or longer.

Good luck.

Thanks for replying Christine. Its just the speed at which all of this has occurred that is scaring me. Even the oral surgeon said, it would be unusual for mouth cancer to pop up at more than one place at a time. I just dont comprehend. I have up smoking for my child and used the lozenges. Unfortunately they just made me paranoid about mouth cancer and then i stupidly started on rolling tobacco. I can give up i just so afraid christine. X

Hi, Tamsin - waiting is the worst! I hope that you will get good news in two weeks. In the meantime, maybe you could concentrate on eating healthy foods - maybe add some plain yoghurt to your diet. Being upset can change your body chemistry and put all sorts of things out of alignment.
Take care and keep busy!
Maria

Tamsin, you have chased this for a good part of a year now and all the docs seem to be saying the same thing. At some point you need to either accept nothing is wrong that warrants so much worry in your life or you need to find completely different doctors till you run out of choices. You acknowledge you think smoking cessation is what you need to do but you don't stop. I'm not sure what everyone else will be able to do for you at this point. Have you considered antidepressants or antianxiety meds? It's time to try something different. Even worrying without a serious health problem this long will stress the body beyond belief. Having a serious health problem and letting it just progress isn't good either. You've come up with quite a few diagnoses from Dr. Google but I'm not sure anyone here can tell you as much as a trained doctor can. I feel for you as worrying about health issues is very tough. Good luck and keep on searching till you get your answer.

Hi Uptown

Thanks for your response. I am being seen by psychiatrists today. The mouth issue has progressed, now a big ulcer in roof of mouth that isnt healing. Im just too frightened, and yes very depressed. Also have had pain in neck glands for a while that i thought was just reflux. All on same side as ulcer. I keep stopping and starting smoking, its like im giving up on everything.

Thank you, your words are so true xxx
