Joined: May 2009 Posts: 1,412 | Radiation: The gift that keeps on giving. I now have a loose molar with pain underneath. A few weeks ago I had a bone scan that said increased activity in the mandible suggestive of dental disease. Guess I will be going to the dentist to find out what is going on.

Joined: Jul 2012 Posts: 3,267 Likes: 4 | Good luck with the dentist. I'm going through this with all my teeth, which need to be extracted two years after radiation. I have had, and still do, have a few tooth/gum infections that can only be treated with antibiotics for now, and taking long term antibiotics, so not to complicate matters. Infections can get out of control, into the blood system, even in the mouth through ulcers, gums, if not treated properly. I also rinse with salted warm water. As you probably know, if any teeth need to be extracted, you will need to do the 20/10 HBOT dives.
