Joined: Aug 2013 Posts: 144 | Has anyone had hearing loss in their ND side? I have. Does anyone here know the cause? The only thing that comes to me is just the swelling from the extreme lymphedema I have acquired.

3/14/2014 given 2 weeks, 3 maybe. All the veins in my head are slowly leakinging due to Ehlers Danlos syndrome. lucky thing is that my spinal fluid leaking out my nose is slowing the build up of pressure in my huge, huge head. you would not believe.

Joined: Jul 2009 Posts: 1,409 | I had about a 30% hearing loss after treatment. But it was in the opposite ear from my ND side. My surgeon surmised that it was thanks to the radiation. It got better over time... but I think I have a permanent loss nonetheless, although by now I'm used to it.

No chemo? My hearing loss was attributed to my Cisplatin.

Age 58 at Dx, HPV16+ SCC, Stage IV BOT+2 nodes, non smoker, casual drinker, exercise nut, Cisplatin x 3 & concurrent IMRT x 35,(70 Gy), no surgery, no Peg, Tx at Moffitt over Aug 06. Jun 07, back to riding my bike 100 miles a wk. Now doing 12 Spin classes and 60 outdoor miles per wk. Nov 13 completed Hilly Century ride for Cancer, 104 miles, 1st Place in my age group. Apr 2014 & 15, Spun for 9 straight hrs to raise $$ for YMCA's Livestrong Program. Certified Spin Instructor Jun 2014.

Joined: Jul 2012 Posts: 3,267 Likes: 4 | Shawn had Erbitux, and I don't see hearing loss as a common, uncommon or rare side effect, but with the one's listed, it could see some side effects maybe indirectly effecting hearing, including his recent post of edema.

Joined: Aug 2013 Posts: 144 | I never followed up on the hearing loss, I was going to wait to see if it got worse. And it seems to not have gotten worse,(perhaps a little better). I forgot about giving follow up here.
