So I've been on MST 20mg tablets for about 4weeks taken in the morning then 12 hours later at night anyway sorry for tmi but the constipation is so bad on them I have tried laxatives and stool softners and nothing's working even tried home remedies too . Ive got to the point where the constipation is too painful . I feel I can come off the morphine and be ok on normal paracetmol and ibuprofen for the pain. Anyway my question is has anyone been on this kinda dosage and just stopped taking it . I'm really scared incase I get withdrawals but I don't want to lower the dosage as I just want to stop the constipation by coming off it as soon as . As I cannot cope with the side effects off it anymore they seem to have gotten worst than when I started . Thanks in advance smile

I don't think you will have withdrawal issues at that dose and length. There are tons of things to do to help your constipation. Even a tablespoon of mag citrate before bed until things get moving would be very helpful. Drink lots of water and eat soft cooked veggies for a while too.

Pineapple and/or pineapple juice, apple cider, extra fiber (like benefiber) will all help with the constipation.

Try lactulose/generlac. That stuff is strong.

You should be OK at that dose but it depends what dose you got up to and how long you have taken to get down to 20 (although being on 20 morning & night for a month should be good). It took me 2 months to get from 80 morning & night down to nothing. I got some minor withdrawal symptoms at the end but toughed it out for 4 days and then was normal. That was only about a week ago.
Good Luck!
