And all of sudden today out of no where I have quite bad heartburn . It's strange because I have never had heartburn in my entire life . Has anyone else experienced this . Thanks in advance

| | | | Joined: Dec 2011 Posts: 126 Senior Member (100+ posts) | Senior Member (100+ posts) Joined: Dec 2011 Posts: 126 | I experienced the same thing! i dont really know if its acid reflux or heartburn or both - ive never had either so i dont know the difference, but i definitely getting it after treatment. i told my doctor and he gave me some medicine but it has mostly gone away now - i still get it every now and then but not like i was getting it the first several months after treatment. i'd tell your doctor though, there is medicine to help!

Talk to your primary care. There's OTC and prescription meds available to take care of this BUT do take care of this because that acid will cause damage to the throat and teeth if you don't.

Age 58 at Dx, HPV16+ SCC, Stage IV BOT+2 nodes, non smoker, casual drinker, exercise nut, Cisplatin x 3 & concurrent IMRT x 35,(70 Gy), no surgery, no Peg, Tx at Moffitt over Aug 06. Jun 07, back to riding my bike 100 miles a wk. Now doing 12 Spin classes and 60 outdoor miles per wk. Nov 13 completed Hilly Century ride for Cancer, 104 miles, 1st Place in my age group. Apr 2014 & 15, Spun for 9 straight hrs to raise $$ for YMCA's Livestrong Program. Certified Spin Instructor Jun 2014.
