Anyone having or had problems with their soft palate becoming hard and making speech difficult and food come back up through their nose? If so, what did you do for it?

Ive seen posts where patients have had this happen. A barium swallow test may be helpful to ensure food/drinks are going where they should. A speech pathologist may be able to help work with your husband to help him with eating and swallowing.

Best wishes!

Right after treatment , 4 years ago, my soft pallet was a problem, Kind of gross ut I would always be blowing food out my nose! The problem has not gone away. You should see a speach or swalllowing specialist. I am sure they will recomend a swallowing test.

I would rate the problem an more of a nusance for me, or maybe I have just gotten use to it.

But do look for that speach/swallowing right away. they can give exercises that will help
