Joined: Sep 2007 Posts: 148 | Six years cancer free. Now growing very fast in my mouth again. No dr yet. No insurance. Dr app on the tenth. So angry. I went through 37 radiation treatments in 07 I slept that whole month I was able to then. Now I am on my own with no family close to help. Really scared
49 years young 9/2007 Squamous Cell Carcinoma 33 rad treatments. One year later, 9/17/2008 50 years old through the Grace of God. last check up all clear. Living life as it comes to me.

Joined: Jun 2007 Posts: 10,507 Likes: 7 | Im very sorry to hear about your recurrence! Have you called the American Cancer Society yet? They offer help with transportation for cancer patients. It takes a few weeks to set up so dont delay. I am a volunteer driver and take patients to their doctor appointments or treatments. This service is available thru out most of the US.

Joined: Sep 2007 Posts: 148 | Went to a new dr since I moved from Ga to ND. This doc don't know his butt from a hole in the ground. He did refer me to an ENT hopefully not all drs here are non caring. I know what's in my mouth I've been there and got the tee shirt. It squamous cell carcinoma. Its back and it feels like its in my throat as well. ENT hopefully will prove me wrong....but if he proves me right well then......

Age 58 at Dx, HPV16+ SCC, Stage IV BOT+2 nodes, non smoker, casual drinker, exercise nut, Cisplatin x 3 & concurrent IMRT x 35,(70 Gy), no surgery, no Peg, Tx at Moffitt over Aug 06. Jun 07, back to riding my bike 100 miles a wk. Now doing 12 Spin classes and 60 outdoor miles per wk. Nov 13 completed Hilly Century ride for Cancer, 104 miles, 1st Place in my age group. Apr 2014 & 15, Spun for 9 straight hrs to raise $$ for YMCA's Livestrong Program. Certified Spin Instructor Jun 2014.
