She had a very long battle with OC with mets to the lungs and liver. Barbara will be missed by many friends who got to know her over the years. I was fortunate to have had the opportunity to meet Barbara at the Scottsdale, AZ walk last year. May she rest in peace. Bloop's profile

Thanks for letting us know. I was always amazed that Barbara posted so much when she was obviously not feeling well at all. We will miss her. RIP Barbara.

How sad. Barbara and I emailed each other and she was always planning trips to Vegas, her favorite place in the whole wide world. I believe she went with her granddaughter in March or April. I was always amazed at her attitude and also her determination to travel while she could. She sent me the photo of you two when you met her at that walk and bragged about you. You were lucky to have met her personally. I hate it so much that she's gone (but not forgotten), and thank you so much for telling us.

Joined: Aug 2011 Posts: 596 | Thank you for letting us know, Christine. I know I have interacted with Bloop a bit on the forums. I think she was always there to encourage me and make me feel better. I did not have the good fortune of knowing her well, but I went back and read most of her posts and she was a special woman, for sure! I am sorry to the OCF community for this terrible loss. Her story was so unique and unfathomable. I wish all of you who knew her well to have peace in your hearts to know that she is no longer suffering and to find some comfort in remembering the good times seeing her on FB and here on the forums.

SCC L oral tongue (no risk factors)
L partial gloss/MND 3/28/11 @ 25 wks preg
T1-2N0M0; no rads/chemo
Tonsillectomy on 8/6/12 +SCC L tonsil T2-3N1M0 (HPV-)
Treated with 35 rads/7 carbo & taxol (Rx ended 10/31/12), but many hospitalizations d/t complications from rx.
Various scans since rx ended are NED!
Part of genetic study for rare cancers @ MGH.
44 years old now...I wasn't sure I would make it! Hoping for 40 more!

History Leukoplakia bx 8/2006 SCC floor mouth T3N0M0- Verrucous Carcinoma.
14 hour 0p SCC-Right ND/excision/marginal mandibulectomy 9/2006, 4 teeth removed, flap from wrist, trach-ng 6 days- no chemo/rad.
6 ops and debulking (flap/tongue join) + bx's 2006-2012.
bx Jan 2012 Hyperkeratosis-Epithelial Dysplasia
24cm GIST tumour removed 8/2013. Indefinite Oral Chemo.
1/31/16 passed away peacefully surrounded by family
