Had surgery yesterday afternoon. What was originally estimated at removal of 2 to 3 teeth, ended up being 5. Uuggh..

My doctor put a 'bolster' over what was left of my gums. My face is still numb this morning. What is this thing? I go back Tuesday to have it removed. Then what?

I assume it was put there to hold the gums in their natural place and give them support until they heal.
