Joined: Aug 2013 Posts: 5 | Hello, just a final update from me (i hope) Saw an ENT consultant who reassured me that there is nothing wrong with my mouth, just a bit of inflammation where i have been poking around. He had a good look and a feel of lymph nodes all the way round my head and neck. Gave me lots of reassurance and said there is nothing for him to even biopsy, never mind scan. I feel so relieved, its only been a journey over a week but the stress has been huge!! Makes me feel even more admiration for you guys who are living life with oral cancer.
I didnt say before but im a childrens cancer nurse and am very very aware of just how support and love can help in difficult situations. This board is a huge huge inspiration and i wish each and every one of you all the luck and positivity in the world.

Age 58 at Dx, HPV16+ SCC, Stage IV BOT+2 nodes, non smoker, casual drinker, exercise nut, Cisplatin x 3 & concurrent IMRT x 35,(70 Gy), no surgery, no Peg, Tx at Moffitt over Aug 06. Jun 07, back to riding my bike 100 miles a wk. Now doing 12 Spin classes and 60 outdoor miles per wk. Nov 13 completed Hilly Century ride for Cancer, 104 miles, 1st Place in my age group. Apr 2014 & 15, Spun for 9 straight hrs to raise $$ for YMCA's Livestrong Program. Certified Spin Instructor Jun 2014.
