A doctor who specializes in HBO will oversee your treatments and see you weekly. They should be doing a consult prior to your starting HBO, so ask them how HBO will impact your wide angle glaucoma at your consult. Every single day a HBO tech (usually an RN) will check your vital signs prior to and after the dive. If you develop any vision issue you can tell the tech right away who can relay the info to the doctor. After everything you have already been thru I would hate to see you have any more issues.

Good luck!!!

I've done HBO twice and did have vision changes both times - mainly distance which cleared up within a few weeks after I finished treatment.

Both times my BP became elevated. High BP does run in my family but mine was normal until after I developed OC. I've been on BP medication for a few years which has kept it in check until I started HBOT. This past time my doctor added another BP medication which helped. I finished the last round of HBOT the end of May and my BP is now back to normal.

I agree with Christine that HBOT does take up a lot of time -- a few hours each day plus travel time to get there. I was treated at 3 different facilities and each had a TV for each chamber. I found bringing my own DVDs a great help to beat the boredom.

Good Luck!!
