Had an MRI done because I've been having chronic headaches/migraines with some jaw pain and my ENT said there was still exposed bone where my wisdom teeth were extracted on the lower mandible. It's been 8 months since my surgery and words like Osteomyelitis and Osteonecrosis are scaring the crap out of me. They finally got the results back and his assistant called today and said he wanted me to come in to discuss the results but of course he doesn't have an opening until Wednesday. So here I am, stuck driving myself crazy for 2 days until then. My ENT said if there wasn't an infection that he would take a skin graft from my cheek and cover the exposed bone and have me do another round of HBOT. If there is an infection there would be IV antibiotics and HBOT as well. I just want to know...

Gosh, dont the medical professionals understand how hard it is when they do that to a patient? It stinks!!!!
On the good side, HBO isnt a big deal and either is the IV antibiotics. You would get a picc line and do the meds thru that. Hopefully if you have to go that route, its a short term thing. I did HBO with the picc line antibiotics 3 times a day for about 8 months. Was a very long 8 months! Mine was from some major complications from having my jaw removed and the surgery failed, all kinds of unusual issues. You situation sounds like it shouldnt be too bad, just time consuming.

I've been battling these awful headaches and migraines and then the jaw pain came along and that was the only way we knew to even look, at any rate, my ENT thinks this could have been the cause of the headaches. 4 weeks with a PICC, every 6 hours and I'm assuming 30 HBOT treatments. We shall see...
