Eve of my final day for radiation. Personally there are no words to describe the journey. Never in my life did I imagine anything like this would happen to me. I had no idea HPV + existed outside of my wife's exams and some friends with daughters contemplating the vaccines. Wow............ Now Tx is almost complete. It feels good to be at the end and yet I'm not sure what really happened or why. Like a high speed train everything outside of the window is a blur. The only constant through the journey has been this support group. You helped me prepare - encouraged me to press on - and advised me along the way. I have read and re-read comments to many individuals in many steps of their journey and learned from you. I have a long way to go in understanding but plan to stay on the site and someday fill in where needed. Thank you.

I still remember my last radiation session. They gave me my mask (which I still have and use every time I speak about Oral Cancer) and I felt as if I had graduated from some Saw VIII Prep Camp. I didn't have the benefit of this site so I thought the worst was over. Yeah right! Even though the next few weeks may be your worst yet at least you are mentally prepared.

Congrats on this milestone!!

Congrats! It's a wonderful feeling to ring the bell! As a couple of others have said. Hang on... the ride isn't over! The next few weeks post Tx are as brutal or worse than the treatment. I'm 10 weeks post and while I'm markedly better, I'm still a hurtin' puppy.

It's more vital that you continue to hydrate and nourish yourself post Tx. You should begin to turn the corner 2-3 weeks from now.

Positive thoughts and prayers,

"T"

Woot woot! Congrats!! Imagine us standing in the corner cheering you on! You did it.
Now tighten your seat belt. lol. The ride is not over but you can see light at the end of the tunnel. Be patient, something I am trying to learn to do myself.
