No PEG tube. My dr said they only put them in as last resort as they feel ultimately they do more harm than good. I have lost about 50 pounds. I was overweight to start with so it's not as bad as it seems. My question is this. I have got to start eating. I have some magic mouthwash and feel like I can swallow but there is fear of burning and choking. Does anyone have any good ideas about what to try first?

Have a big glass of water near to hand. Angel hair pasta with EVOO will slide right down, too. Baby steps first! Maria

Can you drink a protein supplement like ensure, glucerna or boost. I could not tolerate scrambled eggs for a while, it was a texture thing, same as bread. Anorexia, starvation is a psychological thing. Maybe see counselor or someone for eating disorders.

I was fortunate that I retained my taste so it was wonderful. Water was needed to wash it down but it was quite good Just remember.. "chew, chew, chew, chew... Sip and swallow, sip and swallow". Once you get on the train, it becomes easier... Positive thoughts and prayers "T"

Here is a list of easier to eat foods. The foods on this list have a smoother texture and tend to be on the bland side to make it easier to relearn how to eat again. Canned peaches were one of my staples. They slide right down easily. Good luck!!!
