I'll take your kind words and prayers to her when she does wake up. Got a little more detail today. It had spread from ovary to ovum and intestine. They removed it but did not get clean margins. She has enough of a fight ahead just to recover from what has already happened, and then she still has the cancer to deal with. I feel like we're stuck in quicksand. I'm not a religious person and don't use the word prayer often but I know Linda and her son Michael will be comforted by knowing people are praying for her, And that matters a lot.

I too am sending prayers and best wishes for a speedy recovery from this surgery. As you know there is so much that can be done these days with chemo and radiation, as you have both already experienced. I know a woman here that has had cancer three times and is just fine. Keep us posted. Many hugs for your both.

Although it's not the best results you could get, there is hope that she can get over this terrible problem. It sure will be tough for both of you, but hopefully Linda can go through treatments and be cancer free. I have always believed in prayers, although when horrible things happen it does make a person doubt. I just know there is a GOD in heaven and will send my prayers for Linda's recovery. I'm sure most of the Forum will do likewise, and you do too, David. We are a family and we care for you both. Assure Michael that we love his Mom and our prayers are on the way.
Hugs from julieann

Some cancers other than OC are easier to treat. I hope what Linda is going thru will be an easy road for her.
Being asleep is not a bad thing after going thru a huge surgery. It gives her body time to begin heeling and she doesnt have to deal with pain issues. I was was kept in a medically induced coma for 3 weeks. Besides a few memory blips here and there I have gotten past that bad period and am doing well if thats any consolation. Linda is equally resilient and will be on the right path before you know it.
Please be kind to yourself, caregivers need care too. Hang in there! Sorry bout that. Anyway, I saw Linda this morning. She still hasn't awakened but is doing better, more relaxed and moving her limbs some. Another surgery tomorrow a.m. Michael is finally getting some sleep. This is very hard on him and he hasn't slept much the last few days. I'll just let him sleep now and I'll go over to see my Mom in a little while. She made some bread pudding with lemon sauce for me to bring home. yum.

It's time for you and Linda to be on the receiving end of whatever support we are able to give you. Glad to hear that Linda is doing better. And how nice that you will be seeing your Mom. It always helps to have a Mom around, especially when she has delicious bread pudding for you! Sending prayers for everything to go well with Linda's surgery tomorrow. Keep in touch and let us know how everything goes.

Linda is closed up and stable. Her pulmonologist was there yesterday pm. While we don't yet have pathology back, he painted a very grim picture re the cancer and how much it spread. We'll wait til we talk to onc. and get all the results before we get really freaked out but, honestly, I hsve never been more afraid of what the future holds. Even if she makes it through the current crises, there's still the cancer to face. I feel sick in the face of all this.
