Joined: May 2013 Posts: 21 | good morning everybody!!.. my doctor called me this morning to tell me my results from my biopsy and he said it was negative!! i feel like 1000 pounds lifted off from my shoulder im happy BUT from everything i have been reading on this site im still a little worried since some of you say that biopsy's are not 100% accurate! also this pain on my neck and ear still has not gone away 100%, i dont know if it was because i was in so much stress and anxiety over this situation and im still not comftrable that he said my left tonsil looked larger, i also lost around 10 pounds and i have no appetite hopefully is all stress related!! i have an appointment to see him tomorow and im going to request for him to do a scan on my head and neck to be 100% sure!! , can u guys tell me what are important questions to ask please! ??? SIDENOTE: i forgot to mention that i asked him if he tested for HPV as well and he said that he did not since it did not look like HPV i was kinda upset he did not test for that smh..

Age 58 at Dx, HPV16+ SCC, Stage IV BOT+2 nodes, non smoker, casual drinker, exercise nut, Cisplatin x 3 & concurrent IMRT x 35,(70 Gy), no surgery, no Peg, Tx at Moffitt over Aug 06. Jun 07, back to riding my bike 100 miles a wk. Now doing 12 Spin classes and 60 outdoor miles per wk. Nov 13 completed Hilly Century ride for Cancer, 104 miles, 1st Place in my age group. Apr 2014 & 15, Spun for 9 straight hrs to raise $$ for YMCA's Livestrong Program. Certified Spin Instructor Jun 2014.

Joined: Jul 2012 Posts: 3,267 Likes: 4 | David, I've seen an OralDNA swish test, how accurate, idk, but the results will allegedly show the type of human papilloma virus, even high risk, 16, 18, after submitting the sample, so I read. Will insurance cover, idk. Other than that, don't know much about it.

Joined: May 2013 Posts: 21 | hi paul! do you know where can i get that test done!! im really scared that i might be a carrier of the hpv16 or any other bad HPV's i had a biopsy done in my mouth and it came back negative wich i was relieved! but i want to have a peace of mind and make sure that i am 100% clean of HPV! please help!

April 2006: Husband dx by dentist with leukoplakia on tongue. Oral surgeon's biopsy 4/28/06: Moderate dysplasia; pathology report warned of possible "skip effect." ENT's excisional biopsy (got it all) 5/31/06: SCC in situ/small bit superficially invasive. Early detection saves lives.
