The Oral Cancer Foundation has been selected as one of the early winners for the 2013 Great Nonprofit Top-Rated Awards. This award is so important! It helps OCF get donations which go to fund research projects. April was a great month this year in spreading oral cancer awareness. We can keep the momentum going by continuing to send in 5 star reviews all year long. Thank you to all who helped to make this award possible!!! GreatNonprofits, OCF PS: OCF has won awards in 2009 and 2012 as well.

"OCF is reviewed by many non-profit oversight organizations, and we are proud of all of their findings. The foundation's record of having impact, measurable in tangible endpoint results, has been praised by many. We have found means to accomplish important goals when our human and financial resources were minimal, surprising many. We have thought outside the box to accomplish our missions; raise awareness, support patients, and see that important research which impacts not only our disease but society is both funded and part of the public dialog where its information could effect change more rapidly. We were early adopters and leveraged technology and the Internet to advance our goals when others were still living in a printed paper world.
For many years OCF has been receiving notice, and meaningful awards for our impact. And I am proud of yet another outside acknowledgement of what this seed of an idea has become. But more than these awards, I have never been more proud to be associated with an organization composed of committed individuals that epitomize the idea - that any life of value, is spent partly in service to others. OCF's science team members, our financial supporters big and small, the hundreds of volunteers that do the heavy lifting in awareness and patient support, the administrative team that sees that the wheels keep turning, and many others behind the scenes that are the glue that makes it all work, these are the real recipients of any award that bears the foundation's name. It is this intertwined group of extraordinary individuals, who day after day show that teamwork makes the dream work. All of you have my deepest respect and admiration for what you continue to accomplish. You are changing lives everyday."
