Have any of you come across any relationship between a high ANA (antinuclear antibody) titre and SCC? Just asking as mine came back as 1:1280. It's a connective tissue marker but seems to also have a link to SCC?

I never had it to my knowledge, and not too familiar with it, but It's used to test for autoimmune diseases. A healthy person can test positive, so It's not used for diagnosis, just rule out certain diseases, but then other specific tests can be done based on findings.

I heard of SCCA, Squamous Cell Carcinoma Antigen test being done to monitor for SCC recurrencent or persistent disease. but should not be solely relied on either.

My oncologist ordered a CEA test, carcineombryonic Anigen, for my next visit, maybe due to my anemia, and is mostlu used for other type of cancers especially colon, rectal, but also pancreas, breast, ovary, lung, but myndoctor mentioned before, she that she thought my CEA level would have gone down after surgery for my neck?

I had the ANA titer as part of my RA diagnosis. I also had additional tests to rule out cancer. In my case, they were concerned that I might also have Lupus - but as Paul mentioned, the titer alone does not a diagnosis make.

A link by the ACS about tumor markers, and an explanation of each. No ANA on it.

Another link for sreason for a CEA test in head and neck cancer, mostly used after suregry and or to monitor for a recurrence.

Yes I agree "the titre alone, does not a diagnosis make".. was just wondering.

Thanks everyone. You're a wealth of collective knowledge.
