It is a recurring ulcer. She has trouble with this side of her tongue ever since she had chemotherapy for breast cancer. She went to the doctor who has referred her but she isn't seeing anyone until 4th June. She has an extremely dry mouth because of the chemotherapy from 5 years ago. Could the dry mouth cause this? The ulcer/mark is a hole with a little white patch under the hole. Mum says it hurts more towards the evening..almost like a sore throat when she swallows. She used to smoke but gave up 4 years ago. I am really upset and worried. I always presume the worst ![frown frown](/forums/images/graemlins/default/frown.gif)

Good luck

She said it no longer hurts and the white bit looks as though it has healed up. Mine felt better at times but never really healed. She should still be checked by an ENT ASAP. Just to be on the safe side. ![smile smile](/forums/images/graemlins/default/smile.gif) hugs
